If you’ve been trying to update or restore your device, to no avail, you’re really lucky to croos this post. Down below is a “how-to” on what you can do to fix the iTunes error 3194.
Here’s How To Fix iTunes Error 3194 (in most cases)
For Windows
Tap on the start button and type “notepad”
Right click on it and run as administrator
On the upper left hand corner click on File > Open
navigate to C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/ and find the file that’s named “hosts”
Most Likely you’ll have this IP at the bottom of the file:
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com this is what is causing iTunes Error 3194
Remove the line from your Hosts File, entirely.
Now, save the hosts file and then try restoring or updating your iPhone through iTunes.
For Mac
the file is in /etc/
Open the file in Notepad (or any other text editing software) (for Windows users, open this with Administrator Privileges)
Most Likely you’ll have this IP at the bottom of the file:
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
Remove the line, entirely.
Now, save the hosts file and then try restoring or updating your iPhone through iTunes.
In most cases, the error shouldn’t pop up now.
Note : This iTunes error 3194 was occurring due to me using TinyUmbrella.
