A while back, iH8sn0w released p0sixspwn which made it much more convenient, on the user end, to achieve an untethered jailbreak running iOS 6.1.6. Before p0sixspwn, we all used the well known Redsn0w jailbreak tool to first, perform a tethered jailbreak, and then install the p0sixspwn package directly from Cydia to convert your tethered jailbreak into an untethered jailbreak
In this guide, you’ll get the step-by-step guide to perform a untethered jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running iOS 6.1.6 through iOS 6.1.3 using p0sixspwn (with or without a broken home or power button.)
Note: This guide is meant for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 6.1.3 through iOS 6.1.6 (you can verify by checking in the Settings App > General > About.)
What You’ll Need
p0sixspwn supports the following devices on iOS 6.1.3, 6.1.4, 6.1.5, and iOS 6.1.6
iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5
iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 5G
iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad mini
Important steps before we proceed:
If you haven’t make a backup of your device via iTunes.
Disable the passcode on your iOS device during the jailbreak process. Navigate to Settings > General > Passcode Lock and Turn Passcode Off. You can enable it after you’ve successfully jailbroken your device.
Lets Get Started
Step 1. Download the latest version of p0sixspwn jailbreak from here and save it to your desktop.
Step 2. Double click the downloaded file and extract the application.
Note: Please note you’ll need to extract p0sixspwn to your Desktop before running it. Do not run it directly from the zipped folder.
Step 3. After launching p0sixspwn, it will prompt you to connect your iOS device.
Step 4. Connect your iOS device to the computer.
Step 5. When your device has been read by p0sixspwn click on the Jailbreak button.
Step 6. After clicking on the Jailbreak button let it do its magic.
Your device is now jailbroken, it will reboot by itself.
Step 7. After it has rebooted, you’re done. It has been successfully jailbroken and you should be able to find the Cydia icon on the home screen (it may not be on the first page so search for it to locate it).
