How To Install GBA iOS 8.3/8.2 Emulator Without (No) Jailbreak Game Boy Advance + Games

How To Install GBA iOS 8.3 Emulator Without (No) Jailbreak iPhone iPad iPod Touch + Games

Homebrew Indie Games was one of a few emulators that snuck its way into the App Store a while back until Apple noticed it and pulled it. The app enabled users to play Game Boy (Advance and Color,) Super Nintendo and Nintendo, SEGA CD, Game Gear, Master System, and Genesis games; I know, that’s a long list. Thanks to the HiPStore it’s back. The catch is that you need to load the ROM file(s) into the Documents folder of the app, and your game will be listed with the games already installed. So if you’re ready to play some 16, or 8, bit games keep on reading below to get the full scoop and how-to.

HiPStore On iOS 8.3

Step 1. Open Safari and visit iOSEmulatorSpot.com > scroll down and tap “Cydia Alternatives” > scroll down until you see “HiPStore.”

Step 2. Tap the install button, wait a couple seconds, tap install, and back out. It will take about 20 minutes for HiPStore to install due to the slow servers.

Step 3. Once the HiPStore is done open it up.

Homebrew Indie On iOS 8.3

Step 1. Unlock your device and fire up HiPStore.

Step 2. Tap on the magnifying glass on the upper right-hand corner and type “Homebrew Indie Games.”

Step 3. Once you see Homebrew Indie Games and tap on it, tap on the blue download button on the upper right. Your download will, or may, take up to 20 minutes to download.

Note: You can track your downloads by going back to the home of HiPStore and tap on  the upper left corner. Scroll down and tap on the second to the last tab. Then tap on the second tab at the top.

Step 4. Once your download is done, HiPStore will automatically start the installation process and you’ll be prompted with a pop up message asking for your permission to install Homebrew Indie Games. Tap “Install” and then tap“Install” again.

Back out of HiPStore and wait until Homebrew Indie Games is done installing,

Step 5. Once the app is done installing, open it, tap “Trust,” if needed, and back out.

Step 6. Head on over to your computer and fire up your browser. Navigate to “RarLab” select the correct version depending on your computer, 32 or 64 bit. Then open a second tab in your browser and navigate to “iExplore” and download it.

Step 7. Now install both Winrar and iExplore. When your done open a third tab and navigate to the Game Boy Advance section of “RomHustler.com.”

Note: You can select any rom site you want. I selected RomHustler

Step 8. Look for your favorite game(s) here, or one you want to download. When you find your favorite ROM(s) (game), tap the game > Scroll down > tap on the checked box so that you uncheck it. Now you tap on the “download link” right above that.

Step 9. When your download is done, you’ll need to open the zipped file and extract the ROM, the game, inside onto your desktop.

Step 10. Once you have completed the aforementioned steps, and your game is extracted from the zipped folder, launch iExplore, tap on the Apps drop down bar on the top left. Select Homebrew Indie and drag and drop your games here.

Note: Make sure to close the Homebrew Indie app COMPLETELY when the games are done transfering and then open it. Make sure there’s a green line next to the app in iOSEmus which means it’s signed and able to be installed. Also, Apple notoriously likes to kill off any third party apps, so if it doesn’t install, or isn’t there, you know why.
